Speaker: Coach McGraw
Mike McGraw is widely recognized as one of the most accomplished golf coaches in collegiate athletics, earning a reputation for developing championship-caliber players while emphasizing character, discipline, and sportsmanship. Mike’s collegiate coaching career spanned 3 decades:

Oklahoma State: Joined OSU as an assistant in 1997, helping the men win the 2000 NCAA title; later became head women’s coach (winning five Big 12 titles) and then head men’s coach for eight seasons. His OSU men’s team won the 2006 NCAA Championship and was runner-up in 2010; during his eight seasons as men’s head coach the Cowboys won five Big 12 titles and made five NCAA Championship appearances

Alabama: Served as an assistant under Jay Seawell on the Crimson Tide staff that won the 2012 NCAA title

Baylor: Hired as Baylor’s head men’s golf coach in 2014. Over 12 seasons he led the program to 20 team championships, 13 individual titles, and 11 All-America selections; Baylor made NCAA Championship appearances in six of the last nine qualifying seasons under him, including four straight berths and a program-best fifth-place finish in match play.  Mike retired in 2026.

McGraw is known for coaching PGA Tour players such as Rickie Fowler, Charles Howell III, and Wyndham Clark. He is also the author of the book Better Than I Found It and hosts a podcast of the same name focused on leadership and mentorship

Away from competitive golf, Mike McGraw values family and the relationships that have supported him throughout his coaching career. He has often spoken about the importance of balancing the demands of coaching with family life and credits their encouragement as an important part of his success. Mike is known for placing a strong emphasis on faith, integrity, and community, principles that have shaped both his family life and his approach to mentoring young athletes. He and his wife Pam reside in Waco, TX.
