OUR FEATURED SPEAKER...
Philip Nicholas-Attorney and Professor at University of Miami
Phil was born in Louisville, Kentucky and raised in Indianapolis, Indiana (which he affectionately calls the “Northern Barren Wastelands” --- at least during the winter). Phil moved to Miami, Florida in 1980 when the tallest building in downtown Miami was 1 Biscayne Tower (which is hard to see now). He attended Miami-Dade Community College (where he decided to become a lawyer). He then obtained a B.A. in Marketing from Florida International University (1986), and his Juris Doctor from University of Miami Law School, (1989).
Phil worked as a commercial litigator for Holland & Knight and then McDermott, Will & Emery before moving to become in-house counsel with a global travel technology solution provider “Amadeus”, where he worked for 28 years ending his career as General Counsel of the Amadeus Americas operations.
In his “retirement”, after working as an adjunct professor in the U.M. Law School for 25 years, Phil recently began his new full time position in the U.M Business School, teaching “Critical Thinking and Persuasion in Business” to undergraduate students.
Phil is married to “Jina”, and has four children and seven grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. They all keep him busy!
