What Eventbrite charges

For events in the United States, Eventbrite charges a ticketing fee on every paid ticket, made of two parts:

  • A service fee of 3.7% + $1.79 per ticket.
  • A payment processing fee of 2.9% of the order, calculated on the order total including service fees and tax.

Eventbrite does not discount ticketing fees for nonprofits. Its help center says there are no discounted ticketing fee rates for nonprofit organizations. Nonprofits can apply for 50% off Eventbrite's paid Pro plan, but that discount doesn't apply to ticketing fees.

Donations sold as Eventbrite donation tickets in the United States carry no service fee, but the 2.9% payment processing fee still applies.

On Eventbrite, buyers pay the fees by default, and you can choose to absorb them into your ticket price instead. Either way someone pays them: your guests on top of the ticket, or your organization out of what you raise.

How the numbers are worked out
  • Eventbrite, per paid ticket, table or sponsorship: 3.7% + $1.79 service fee, plus 2.9% processing. Tables and sponsorships are counted as one ticket each at their full price.
  • Eventbrite processing is applied to the item price only. When buyers pay the fees, Eventbrite also charges 2.9% on the service fee, so its real total is a little higher than shown.
  • AnyRegistration, per paid ticket, table or sponsorship: $1 + 1.5% platform fee (never more than $25), plus 3% + 35¢ card processing. The 35¢ is counted on every item as if each were bought on its own, which is the most it can be.
  • Donations: Eventbrite charges no service fee on US donation tickets and 2.9% processing. AnyRegistration charges no platform fee and 3% card processing; we assume gifts are given in a checkout where the 35¢ is already counted.
  • Each fee is rounded to the cent per item. Sales paid by check carry no card processing with us and are not modeled here.

Beyond fees

What else is different for a nonprofit

No attendee accounts

Your guests register with their name and email. Nobody has to create an account to buy a ticket.

Your guests stay yours

We don't market other organizations' events to the people who register for yours. Your page shows your event and nothing else.

One checkout for everything

Tickets, tables, sponsorships and donations are bought together, so a table host can add a gift without starting over.

Invoices for sponsors who pay by check

A business can ask for an invoice at checkout. You record the payment when the check arrives, with no card processing on it.

Receipts that state fair market value

Set the fair market value of a dinner or a round of golf and the receipt states it, so donors know what part is deductible.

Everything included

There is no subscription and no plan to upgrade. Floor plans, check-in, name tags, reminders and surveys come with every account.
